Historic Sketch

At present we are a club with about 600 members, many of them work in the research area (Forschungsgelände) North of Garching. In 1968 our club was founded by members of the Max-Planck-Institute for Plasmaphysics (IPP) as local group "Plasmaphysics" of the  Freising DAV Section. Because of the relation to science, we display three electron orbits in our club's logo as symbol for research. (See p. 94-95 in "Christine Schemmann: Die andere Seite ihres Lebens: Forscher von Tyndall bis Hahn und Wittig" [1].) In 1998 the local group Ismaning has been founded within our Garching Section.

Our youth maintains their own homepage in the domain http://www.jdav-garching.de/.
